Recipe: Banana and Parsley Biscuits

Posted on June 13, 2014 by Feathers & Tails Admin | 0 Comments

Our recipe this week went down a storm with all our furry friends, these biscuits are nice and crunchy but soft on the inside. They are packed with tasty banana which makes a great healthy treat and parsley which is known to help with the old dog breath. Although I'm the first to admit that I am adamant Belsie still has puppy breath, she smells sweet like roses. You know they say love is blind, well apparently it can be anosmia too!

Banana & Parsley Biscuits

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 heaped tbsp peanut butter
  • handful of fresh, chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 100g rolled oats
  • 200g plain flour

Preheat oven to 175 degrees. Mash the bananas with a fork and mix in the peanut butter and chopped parsley. In a separate bowl combine the oats, flour and egg. Add the banana mixture and mix together to form a dough. On a floured surface roll out the dough to 1/2" thickness. Use a cookie cutter (or improvise with a glass, as I did!) to cut out your biscuits. Place on a baking tray covered with grease proof paper and put in middle of the oven. Cook for 10-15 minutes. You want the biscuits to be golden brown and crispy but still soft on the inside. Leave to cool on a wire rack and store in an airtight container. These last about a week but will last a while longer if kept in the fridge.

We’d love to see your pups enjoying these treats! So make sure to email us at hello(at)feathersandtails.co.uk

Remember that this recipe is not a replacement food source for your pup and make sure they are supervised and have access to water. If you are unsure if the ingredients will suit your dog, we recommend you check with your vet.
